The Just Coach Me staff is committed to the individual planter, his family, and his ministry.
A successful church plant is not about numbers or methods, but about ministry, obedience to God’s call, and striving for excellence to His honor and glory. Whether a person is a success or not will be determined by the King that we serve.
It is our prayer at JCM that we will hear the Lord say, “Well done good and faithful servant”. That is the ultimate measure of success…we want to help you arrive at His throne and hear Him say those words about your ministry and church plant.
WHY Training and Coaching?
For EXCEL-ence. Why settle for good when you can be the best. Good is the enemy of BEST. Why settle for being on the B-team or being a bench warmer when you can be the best? For every Olympic decathlon athlete, there are a million couch potatoes watching TV who will always wonder if they had what it takes to be a champion.
For the church planter, it is about EXCELLENCE for the glory of Christ. Christ is worthy of excellence.
The Biblical Basis for What We Do:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Mentoring/Coaching: Hebrew vs. Greek Model
We live in the 21st Century where most teaching is done using the Grecian model of classroom teaching with a “one on several” concept. However, in biblical times, the Hebrew model for teaching was utilized. The Bible is full of examples of the Hebrew model where teaching was done one-on-one.
In the book of I Samuel there is the account of Hebrew parents taking their young son, Samuel, to the temple to be mentored and trained by Eli the priest.
Other examples would include the relationship between the Old Testament prophet Elijah and the young prophet Elisha or in the New Testament with the Apostle Paul mentoring a young pastor/church planter named Timothy.
“Just Coach Me” does BOTH:
On the one hand, we firmly believe that the best approach for any church planter is to have a “one-on-one “ hands on relationship with a mentor/coach where the coach is readily assessable to the needs of the church planter.
On the other hand, we believe that a beginning church planter can benefit from relationships, ideas, insights, and experiences of other church planters.
When working with Just Coach Me you get BOTH: the coach and a network of other church planters who are at various stages in the process of planting a church.
